Social networking and sharing sites are all over the internet nowadays. I remember a time when it came down to choosing between MySpace and Friendster. But with Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Flickr, Picasa, YouTube, LinkedIn, Foursquare and so on, there are so many ways to connect and share with friends, family, and potential customers.
One of the newest sites to come along is Pinterest. It’s a virtual pinboard, allowing you to share all your favorite pictures of sleeping babies, vintage VW buses, fruit with faces drawn on them, the ever popular cats, or just about anything. A sort of visual bookmarking, it ‘s a lot like Tumblr, though the atmosphere is a friendlier. It’s more focused on group sharing than picture blogging. And with over 104 million unique site visits last month (ranking just behind Twitter and Facebook) it’s growing amazingly fast.
Because of this growth, and because Mailchimp is just that cool, now Pinterest integrates with Mailchimp. Using the Pinterest Chimplet, you can create campaigns using your pins to act as a great way to find common ground with your customers through your shared love of monster trucks, babies wearing flower costumes, or whatever!
